Zomato, the leading foodtech giant, is taking a proactive step towards the wellbeing of its employees with the appointment of its first-ever Chief Fitness Officer (CFO). Anmol Gupta, a fitness enthusiast with an impressive background, has been entrusted with the responsibility of collaborating with employees, including delivery executives and restaurant partners, to monitor their nutritive habits and prioritize their health.

In a recent blog post, Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal wrote, “Great work is an outcome of good health; good health is not secondary to great work.” The company has already been fostering a culture of wellness by providing on-site gym facilities, a team of mental health experts, and a flexible leave policy at their Gurugram headquarters.

The paradigm shift in the senior team now includes a dedicated group of trainers, nutritionists, and wellbeing counselors. Employees are offered personalized meal plans to track their macro and micro nutrient intake, along with various fitness activities, including weight and strength training, yoga, and boxing, catering to both beginners and seasoned enthusiasts.

Goyal shared his own fitness journey, expressing how consistency helped him shed 15 kilograms. Excited about the future, he pledged substantial investment in the wellbeing of Zomato’s employees, delivery partners, and restaurant associates, transforming the way work-life balance is perceived within the company.

Taking to LinkedIn, Gupta, the newly-appointed CFO, expressed his eagerness to make Zomato a fitter organization. With a background in finance and an MBA, he ventured into the fitness domain in 2017, working as a strength and conditioning coach and later co-founding Endure, a unique platform that rewards users for achieving their fitness goals.

Zomato, the food giant known for its spicy tweets and witty humor, recently had the internet in stitches with a hilarious request on Twitter. In their most recent tweet, they addressed Ankita from Bhopal, urging her to stop sending food to her ex on cash on delivery. The tweet quickly went viral, with Zomato mentioning, “Ankita from Bhopal, please stop sending food to your ex on cash on delivery. They sent a humorous tweet that went viral, saying, “This is the third time – he is refusing to pay.”

The mystery of whether Ankita is a real person or just a made-up muse added an extra layer of intrigue to the story. Nonetheless, Zomato’s clever “payback” idea struck a chord with online users, sparking a wave of creative responses. People were inspired to come up with their own witty ideas, as one person remarked, “I think Ankita just gave me an idea.”
