World’s oldest man passed away at 112 years just before his 113th birthday.
Reportedly, Saturnino de la Fuente García, the world’s oldest man, passed away just days before his 113th birthday as per the Guinness World Record.
In September 2021, García, was awarded the title of the oldest living male when he was 112 years and 211 days old.
World’s oldest man passes away due to natural causes
The Guinness World Record in a statement said, the old man died due to natural causes. The incident occurred on 18th of January at his home in León, Spain.
His 113th birthday was on 11th February. Gracía once told “A quiet life” and “do not hurt anyone” were the secrets of his longevity to the Guinness World Record.
About the World’s oldest man
Saturnino de la Fuente García, was born in the Puente Castro neighborhood of León on 11 February 1909. He was affectionately known as “El pepino”. He was always passionate about football.
He married Antonina Barrio Gutiérrez in 1933. He is survived by seven daughters, 14 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.
García survived two pandemics in his life time, the Spanish flu that broke out in 1918 and the current coronavirus pandemic.
Also, as per reports, during the Spanish Civil War of 1936, he avoided enlisting in the army due to his short height. He then chose to be a cobbler by trade and started working in a shoe factory at age 13.
According to reports from EFE, he was buried at a local cemetery.
