Defending champions India beats China 2-0 to clinch the bronze medal at the Women’s Asia Cup hockey tournament on Friday.
Drag flicker Gurjit Kaur and forward Sharmila Devi scored a goal apiece off penalty corners in the 1st half giving the team the required lead. India survived some strong attacks by China in the second half to secure their third bronze medal in the event.

The latter stage of the third quarter saw both teams fight for possession. However, the Indian team played incredibly well under the pressure and managed to keep the score 2-0 till the end of third quarter.
China won yet another penalty corner at the fourth quarter but was unable to convert it and dominated the final quarter but a solid defence secured India the third place in Women’s Asia Cup.
