Nagaland protests to repeal AFSPA
According to one of the organizers the walk has not been initiated by any civil society organizations or political parties instead the public of Nagaland together has organized this walk.
This walk has been organized after the extension of AFSPA in Nagaland.
After the Ministry of Home Affairs extended the Armed Forces Special Powers Act in Nagaland for a period of 6 more months, several Naga outfits condemned the Centre’s decision.
The central government declared the entire Nagaland as a ”disturbed area” for six more months with effect from December 30 under the AFSPA.
The protest walk has been planned by channeling support from various social media platforms as an after effect of the extension as per local media.
