Indian boxing gem Vikas Krishan Yadav candidly admits that he has been “indisciplined” and “too reliant on luck in the past”,and he assures that he will overcome these tendencies ahead of the Tokyo Olympics.
The 2010 Asian Games gold medalist, Vikas is currently training in Italy. Vikas is the only one to have prior experience of competing in the Games, among all the five boxers selected to represent the country in men’s category. He appeared in the London edition of the game and in 2016 Rio Olympics.
“I was too reliant on luck earlier, the draw mattered more than it should. I was indisciplined, I did not train as rigorously as I should have in previous years, didn’t care for my health as much as I should have,” said Vikas about his evolution since his last Olympics appearance.
