A video of a woman beggar living in a Varanasi ghat has gone viral on the internet. What’s so amazing about the video? Well, it’s the fact that this woman speaks fluent English and claims to be a computer science graduate that makes this video unique and has left netizens awestruck.
The woman is identified as Swati in the video, which was posted by a Banaras Hindu University student, and she begs on Varanasi’s Assi Ghat.
Here’s the Video
Sharda Avanish Tripathi, a student at Banaras Hindu University (BHU), interviewed her about her ordeal. Swati revealed in the video that she is from South India and that she lives a normal life with her family and spouse. When she gave birth to her first child, however, the right half of her body became paralyzed. She was evicted from her home and has spent the last three years living on the ghats of Varanasi. She sleeps there and eats whatever the locals feed her.
Swati, a computer science graduate, can be seen in the video telling social media users that the left side of her body was paralyzed after she gave birth to a child. Swati used the video to appeal to users to assist her in finding work in Varanasi.
Avinash Tripathi, a BHU student who recorded the woman and posted the video on Facebook, also asks his fans to offer leads to help Swati find work.
