The United States and India have discussed several issues at the ongoing Quad Summit in Tokyo, Japan. The President of the United States, Joe Biden said on Tuesday, “he is committed to making the US-India partnership among the closest on earth.”
US-India Partnership 2022
As per reports from Indian Express, PM Modi called this partnership between the two countries, as a ‘Partnership of Trust’.
According to Joe Biden, “Mr Prime Minister, there is so much that our countries can and will do together. I’m committed to making the US-India partnership among the closest we have on earth. I am pleased that we have reached an agreement for the US-India partnership Development Finance Corporation to continue the important work in India, supporting vaccine production, and clean energy initiatives. I’m glad we are renewing the Indo-US Vaccine Action Program.”
The countries has also reportedly discussed on issues of the ongoing Ukraine-Russia war.
PM Modi also highlighted the similar views shared by the two countries in the Indo-Pacific region. He said, “the discussions held at the bilateral level as well as with like-minded countries to work to protect our common interests.” He further said that the discussions during the meet will give speed to this positive momentum.
President of US, and PM India along with Fumio Kishida and Australian PM Anthony Albanese met at the Quad Summit held in Japan.
