On 17th September a portion of the flyover has collapsed in Bandra Kurla Complex in Maharashtra’s Mumbai, where at least 13 people got injured. The 13 injured were taken to VN Desai Hospital and are in stable condition, said the disaster control cell of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
No life loss after bridge collapse: Commissioner of police
According to reports, Personnel of the police and fire departments are on the spot for the rescue work.
According to a fire brigade official, the incident was reported at 4.40 am. The flyover connects BKC main road to Santa Cruz–Chembur Link Road.
“A portion of an under-construction flyover connecting BKC main road and Santacruz–Chembur Link Road collapsed around 4.30 am. Thirteen people have sustained minor injuries and have been shifted to a hospital. There is no loss of life and no person is missing,” said Manjunath Singe, DCP (Zone 8).
Construction work
The Disaster Management Cell (DMC) said that the construction work was being undertaken by Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA).
