Two Greenfield airports to be built in Assam in coming times. Assam transport minister spoke to the media on Tuesday regarding the two new Greenfield airports that would be built in Karbi Anglong and Dalu.
He provided an analysis on a number of significant decisions made during the high-level meeting following a significant session of transport ministers in New Delhi.

Two Greenfield Airports
Parimal Suklabaidya said that discussions had taken place regarding the development of two water airports in Guwahati and Umrangso.
According to the Assam cabinet minister, work on two Greenfield Airports in Assam’s districts Karbi Anglong and Dalu will shortly get underway. The transport minister also mentioned that the state is already developing the airports in Dibrugarh, Nalbari and Jorhat.
Furthermore, the All Barak Youth Students’ Association (ABYSA) has urged that the proposed airport be built on the grounds of the Cachar Paper Mill, the only industry in the Barak Valley and currently inactive since October 2015, in Panchgram, Hailakandi district.
