A rushing truck ran over a divider which resulted in the death of 3 women near the farmers’ protest site at Delhi- Haryana border.
The truck driver ran away
According to reports, the women were waiting for an auto-rickshaw sitting on the divider, when the truck hit them.The driver fled away from the accident scene, police said.
2 of the women died on the spot while 1 died after reaching the hospital, police added.
Preliminary reports suggest that the women belonged to the Mansa district in Punjab.
The women identified
The three women who died have been identified as Amarjeet Kaur, 58, Gurmail Kaur, 60 and Chinder Kaur, 60.
The accident happened near to the Tikri border where farmers from Punjab, Haryana and elsewhere have been sitting at Delhi’s borders for nearly 11 months demanding the abolition of the three farm laws.
