Extraordinary Feat: Shakil Hussain Tops Northeast Region in NEET UG 2023


Shakil Hussain, a student at Potential and Concept Educations, has achieved an extraordinary feat by securing the top rank in the entire Northeast region in the NEET UG 2023 examination. The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the results for NEET UG 2023, which witnessed the participation of approximately 21 lakh candidates across the country. The exams were conducted on May 7, 2023, and the results are now available on the official NEET website neet.nta.nic.in. Notably, due to the prevailing violence in Manipur, the NTA had to conduct the medical entrance examination separately in the state.

Out of the total number of candidates who appeared for the NEET UG 2023, a remarkable 11,45,976 students qualified. Uttar Pradesh recorded the highest number of qualifying candidates with 1,39,961, followed by Maharashtra with 1,31,008. The qualifying candidates were categorized into various categories, including OBC, SC, ST, General, and EWS, with 5,25,194, 1,53,674, 56,381, 3,12,405, and 98,322 candidates respectively.

Impressive Qualification: Over 11 Lakh Candidates Qualify for NEET UG 2023

Moving forward, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will announce the counseling dates for the eligible and qualified candidates. To participate in the counseling process and seat allotment, candidates will need to register on the MCC website mcc.nic.in. The counseling process will determine the allocation of seats in various medical and dental courses across different institutes.

The NEET UG 2023 result holds great significance as it paves the way for admission to prestigious institutes and programs. The result enables access to a total of 1,05,433 MBBS seats, 27,948 BDS seats, 52,720 AYUSH seats, 487 BSc Nursing seats, and 603 BVSc seats. Additionally, 1,205 AIIMS MBBS seats and 200 JIPMER MBBS seats in 15 AIIMS and 2 JIPMER institutes will also be allocated based on the NEET result.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) administers the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) annually, which is a prerequisite for admission to undergraduate programs in MBBS, BDS, and Ayush courses. The Government of India has made it compulsory to clear the NEET examination for pursuing medical studies in India as well as abroad.
