64th BN SSB arranged plantation drive in Baksa district of Assam

The 64 Battalion of SSB (Sashastra Seema Bal) Barama, arranged a Plantation drive in Baksa to celebrate 75 years of India’s Independence and as a part of the ‘Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav‘. 

64 BN SSB has done 15,500 saplings plantation this year

During the celebration, Commandant of 64 BN SSB Nand Kishore Tamta said, ”the Battalion has achieved its target to plant 15,500 saplings during this year. We will plant additional saplings during the remaining period for the success of the ‘Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ program. With the help of local people, we are also ensuring the safety and security of the planted saplings. During this plantation drive, long life trees, as well as seasonal fruit trees, were given priorities”. 

Plantation drive by 64th Bn SSB at Barama Camp, Howly

In July, at the 64th Bn SSB Barama Camp, Howly had organized a mega plantation drive at the Veterinary Hospital and Sericulture Farm in Barpeta as well as its headquarters and the AOR of Border outpost.

Under the guidance of Commandant 64 BN SSB, Nand Kishore Tamta, a total of 2,500 saplings were planted from which 550  were planted at the picnic spot near Kala Nadi in Daranga along the Indo-Bhutan border in Baksa. Tamta said, “As a border guarding force, apart from the primary task we are also doing environment protection by planting saplings”.

In August, the 24 battalions of SSB Rangia had organized a tree plantation drive along the Indo-Bhutan Border. More than 1,000 saplings were planted in the premises of many educational institutions, marketplaces, and public places. Bimalanagar SSB camp under 24 Bn of Rangia SSB conducted this plantation drive along the Indo-Bhutan border in association with Jana Sewa NGO in the Guwabari area. The program started at Shanti Ashram, Bimal Nagar near Nagrijuli. The plantation drive aimed to generate awareness about the benefits of nature by planting trees which would help in decreasing global warming and improve air quality. 

A plantation drive was conducted in August by Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Sector Headquarter Bezpara, Mangaldai in collaboration with NERIM Challenge Academy, Mangaldai. The plantation program was organized at the college campus of NERIM academy, Prafulla Nagar, Mangaldai. It was an initiative to create awareness of the importance of trees and nature. 

In July, A nationwide plantation drive was organized by SSB 24 Bn camped at hahara in Rangia and Baksa District in connection with Akhil Bharatiya Vriksharopan Avijaan. The program was guided by commandment SSB 24 Bn Hrishikesh Sarma. And several Officers and Jawans took part.
