On Sunday, SpiceJet’s flight SG-945 encountered severe turbulence, as if it were a scene from a movie. As a result of the jostling and cabin belongings falling on them, at least ten passengers were hurt.

The film Runway 34, directed by Ajay Devgn, depicts the narrative of a flight that is stranded in poor weather, with passengers clinging on for dear life as one capable pilot tries to land the plane safely.

SpiceJet’s aircraft SG-945, which was buffeted by turbulence while descending on Sunday evening, experienced something similar.

There is no word on whether the Air Traffic Controller or the pilot piloting the plane were alerted or aware of the approaching storm, known as kalbaisakhi in the area.

However, unwary passengers were given the scare of their lives, and many did not survive the terrifying journey.

One passenger who suffered a head injury after the bumpy landing told sources that they followed the flight crew’s directions and buckled up tightly.

Their seat belts, however, tore as a result of the hit, and they were thrown around violently in their seats.

According to a passenger named Mohammad Iqbal, the flyers were flung around like ragdolls, and some even fell out of their seats. While praising the pilot’s efforts to steer the plane, he stated that a human could only do so much against the forces of nature.

“It felt like the plane was swaying back and forth.” Some people slid out of their seats backward. “Luggage fell out of the overhead bins and hit people in the head,” he continued.

Another passenger who was hospitalized after the ordeal said the flight was going “up and down” due to the massive turbulence. “I thought the plane would flip over,” he said.

According to sources, ten passengers were hurt when cabin bags fell on passengers mid-flight after Spicejet’s Mumbai-Durgapur flight became engulfed in a storm. The SpiceJet plane was attempting to land in Durgapur, West Bengal’s Kazi Nazrul Islam airport.

One of the ten passengers was seriously injured. After obtaining treatment for minor injuries, the rest were released. The cause of the plane’s being caught in the storm is being investigated.
