“With the rising cases of covid-19 in the state, the opposition Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) urges the government to take the situation seriously and have measures for controlling it. The current situation of Sikkim is severe as the recovery rate is low with the increase in the new cases. SDF party seeing the situation claims that Sikkim is going towards “genocide” if we don’t control it now”, says SDF spokesperson MK Subba.
Subba adds that While the rest of country is already preparing for a third wave of the pandemic, Sikkim is yet to get out of the second wave, which has taken over 177 lives since April.
