Seuti Film Production Company in Manipur Laid the foundation for its latest work “Mirabai Chanu” and has registered the title of this film on the Manipur Film Forum (FFM). A biographical film based on the lives of medalists at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics Saikhom Mirabai Chanu won the silver medal in the women’s 49 kg weightlifting category on July 24, thus opening India’s first medallist.

FFM president will support the production of this biopic
FFM President S Mangoljao said that the Forum Executive Committee will support the production of biographical films and hopes that Seuti Films Production will achieve full success in their joint venture.
Manipur must obtain prior permission from the forum to make films based on the lives of famous people and other stories that describe the art and culture of Manipur.

The film will showcase the struggles of Chanu
The biopic will depict the journey of Mirabai, a resident of Nongpok Kakching. In the East of Imphal, from her childhood to her glory in the Tokyo Olympics, film writer Manaobi said. Manaobei added that the film will be dubbed and dubbed in English and other local languages of the country, and will also be full of Manipur’s culture and traditional spirit.
FFM to start searching for Mirabai look-alike actresses statewide
The 26-year-old weightlifting star expressed her hope that the character in the biopic will be played by a state actress who looks like her. Meira said that then the film company will start a screening event to hunt down Mirabai like Manipuri.
Meira also said that after choosing the right girl, she will attend an acting course in Mirabai’s Village for about six months, adding that the shooting of the new project will begin after the actors have honed their skills and are ready to take the stage.
