The news has been spreading like wildfire across the nation, leaving many in shock and disbelief. What’s more, Dr. Sangeeta Dutta, one of the accused, caused quite a stir at the police station for not being provided with meat and pulao.

While the gravity of the charges against the accused cannot be overstated, the doctor’s insistence on such a request raises questions about her mental state and moral compass. According to Commissioner of Police Diganta Barah, the minor girl bore injury and burnt marks on her private parts and bruises on several parts of her body. The child’s private parts were found burnt with cigarettes during the medical examination. The twins, including the girl and her brother, were allegedly subjected to physical abuse. Addressing the media, Commissioner of Police Diganta Barah said, “The minor girl bore injury and burnt marks on her private parts and bruises on several parts of her body. During medical examination, it has been found that the child’s private parts were burnt with cigarettes.” The doctor couple, Dr. Walliul Islam and Dr. Sangeeta Datta, and their maid Lakshmi Nath have been arrested, and the police have booked the couple under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

While it was initially reported that the minor was Sangeeta Dutta’s and Walilul Islam’s adopted daughter, the police have now revealed that the couple had lied about this. According to the police, there were three children in the house, the three-year-old, her twin brother, and an older girl. The couple had lied that they were the biological parents of the twins, and the police are now investigating to find out who the children actually belong to and how they came to Dr. Sangeeta Dutta’s house.

The twins are currently undergoing medical treatment, and the boy was also allegedly subjected to physical abuse. “Proper arrangements have been made for the children to get the best medical treatment. The police are now waiting for the final medical report,” said Barah. The case has been monitored personally by the Assam Director General of Police and the Chief Minister, and the police investigation is ongoing. The reason or intention behind the abuse of the children is yet to be determined.

Determination of Assam Police to find the roots of this case

Commissioner of Police Diganta Barah has confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, and the accused are currently in police custody. The police have assured the public that they will leave no stone unturned in the pursuit of justice for the victims.

This incident of Dr. Sangeeta Dutta and Walilul Islam serves as a grim reminder of the prevalence of child abuse and the need to be vigilant against such atrocities. The authorities must take strict action against the accused, ensuring that justice is served and the victims receive the necessary care and support. The public must also play an active role in reporting any suspected cases of abuse, helping to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.

The doctor couple, who were entrusted with the health of others, are now accused of heinous crimes against a vulnerable child. The reason or intention behind the abuse of the children is yet to be determined.
