Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has received another death threat, with the unknown sender demanding a ransom of Rs 2 crore. The threat message was sent to Mumbai’s traffic control room on Tuesday through a text message from an unknown number. The message contained an ultimatum, stating that Salman Khan would be killed if the money was not provided.
Salman Khan Receives Another Death Threat
Worli Police Department has filed a case against the sender under sections 354(2) and 308(4) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Investigations are still underway. The police, on the basis of the threat message, arrested an 18-year-old, Mohammad Tayyab, from Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Tayyab is reportedly a carpenter, the officials said.
This means, according to reports in the message, Tayyab allegedly made a direct threat to Salman Khan: “We shall not spare Salman Khan. This is your last warning.” Khan’s personal security has been compromised through the death threats for almost a year. Death threats were particularly made by members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang that is involved in a string of crimes against the actor as well as his inner circles.
Police Probe on the Motives and Personal Safety
Mohammad Tayyab, who is the suspect, hails from Kardam Puri, Delhi, and stays with his uncle there. His father, Mohammad Tahir, is a tailor while Tayyab works as a carpenter, presently earning around Rs 8,000 per month.

He was questioned by investigators and claimed the message sent was a “joke,” but Mumbai Police brought him in for questioning the seriousness of his intentions and in case he might be aligned with any organized group against the actor.
With such a dark history of threats surrounding the name of Khan, no one is taking Tayyab’s claims lightly in the eyes of the investigation officials. “We are looking into all angles, including whether there are connections to other groups who have threatened Salman Khan in the past,” a police officer said.
Salman Khan Boosts Security Measures Following Earlier Attacks
This latest threat happens at a time when Salman Khan and his nearest circle have witnessed a succession of shocking attacks and events. In March this year, a close associate and a political leader was assassinated who reportedly was carried out by those elements associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, who had already threatened the actor.

So, after these incidents, this actor was keeping a pretty low public profile avoiding gatherings and public appearances. Because of continuing threats, there has been an increase in security at the actor’s place, which police has further strengthened as well for keeping him secure.
The Bishnoi gang, which has been headed by Lawrence Bishnoi for quite some time, claims to have been carrying a deep grudge against Khan due to an earlier case where his blackbucks, sacred in the Bishnoi community, were found being poached.
Bishnoi and his associates have been open about their threat and gang members claim in public that they want to harm the actor in connection with previous cases. Over these threats, Khan continues to stay under increased surveillance from the police.
Recent Related Arrests in Threat Case
This recent case involving Tayyab comes in the wake of another arrest connected to threats against Khan and his late associate Baba Siddique’s son, Zeeshan Siddique. In this case, Mumbai Police arrested another man from Noida after he allegedly made a threat call to Zeeshan Siddique’s office in Bandra East last Friday.

The caller had threatened not only Zeeshan Siddique but also Khan; hence, the law enforcement promptly acted on this case. The case has again made it clear that more protection is needed to be offered around Khan and his clique.
Bollywood and Threats to Public Figures
Security-related incidents increasingly have begun to be surfacing into the Indian entertainment industry in which the glamourous star faces the bitter end being victimized at the hands of crime, as evidenced by the numerous cases on Bollywood’s highest-paid actor, Salman Khan that has challenged law enforcement authorities to be more vigilant of security details around him and ensure proper check on his whereabouts.
The threats to this personality were reflective of more widespread security concerns for such celebrity figures.
Now, the concerned law enforcement agencies will look forward to authenticating Tayyab’s allegations and assessing whether he worked in independent capacity or connected with others.
The Mumbai police investigation is also pursuing a process of determining connections of the accused with previously linked entities in the crimes against Khan. They also appeal to the public not to indulge in any such “jokes” or threats as these add to the already mounting burden on the security forces and pose a significant risk to the targeted individuals.
Security around Khan is tight as his team cooperates closely with law enforcement to ensure his protection.
