On Sunday, October 31, a car accident claimed the lives of 5 persons, including a child, and left 3 significantly injured at Besimari under Dalgaon police station in Assam’s Darrang district.
Collision of the car with a truck
According to the police, the incident happened after a Swift Dzire with 5 passengers got into a head-on collision with a truck while its way to Mangaldai on NH-15.
The names of the deceased have been found out as Monowara Begum, Saniya Akhtar, Ibrahim Ali, Azad Ali and Farhad Ali.
Serious Condition
The injured were initially admitted at the Mangaldai Civil Hospital and had been later shifted to the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). All of them were stated to be in serious condition at the time of admission.
Recent instances of road accidents
In another separate incident, two persons were reportedly killed in a road accident that took place at Takoupathar under Kakopathar Police Station (PS) on Friday night.
As per reports, a TVS Apache bike (AS 23X – 5366) was involved in a collision with a JCB (AR 16A – 2045) at the juncture of Talap – Kakopathar bypass.
