As many as 25 girls and women as young as 14 were ‘systematically raped’ by the Russian troops in Ukraine. Nine young girls were reported to have been impregnated.
Rape and torture by the Russian Troops
Another horrific story has been unearth from Ukraine. The stories of the Russian soldiers torture upon the helpless souls of Ukraine is so sad and traumatising at the same. So many young girls and boys alike who would have otherwise been in schools or playing around in the background are now in the hands of the Russian Soldiers. This kind of evil doing is not only spine chilling but traumatising to every person reading it.
All these torture was going on in a basement in Bucha. Even though the Russian soldiers have withdrawn from the capital city Kyiv, their torture continues. According to the Ukraine’s ombudsman of human rights Lyumdmyla Denisvo said, ” the women have been repeatedly raped in the basement of a house which was being occupied by Krelim forces.”
They were raped to a point that they start fearing men and no more ukrainian kids are born. She further added that, “nine of them are now pregnant . Russian soldiers told them they would rape them to a point where they wouldn’t want sexual contact with any man, to prevent them from having Ukrainian children.”
This story is just one of the most horrific ones while there are dozens of them to be heard. Since the day Russia took over and invaded, there has been number of accusation of sexual violence against the forces. The most vulnerable of them being young teenage girls and women, who are often forced into inhuman torture. Since the day the forces has withdrawn from the city, mass killings, rape and stories of execution has been heard.
One of the survivors named Anna who is a 50 year old woman narrated her ordeal. Her husband has been killed in the war and she was being repeatedly raped by a soldier at gunpoint who had taken her to a neaby place. People has been asking one single question to Putin as to why cannot he make a negotiation. The killings and torture that has been inflicted upon the people has left them traumatised to their core.
As per the reports of Ukraine’s human rights President, rape has become a ‘weapon of war’. A means to torture the people in Ukraine.
Bucha Killings of Ukraine
Bucha which is small town in the Ukraine has witnessed some of the worst crimes till date. Before the soldiers have departed, a satellite image shows number of bodies of civilians lying on the road. This kind of mass killing goes beyond the level of torture that one can inflict upon the other.
The images that has been confirmed by BBC and the New York times tells us a story that totally contradicts the statement issued by Russian Foreign Minister. According to Russian Ministry, the forces had withdrawn on 30th March but as per the civilians the killings happened the next day. This day can be marked as the world’s worst sufferings specially at a time when the countries are already going through pandemic situation.
The world now cannot be called a better place to live in after the recent attacks on many countries by one power or the other. Be it the Taliban, or the Palestian Crisis – every country is suffering from one one or the thing because of the power struggle between the big players. The innocent civilians are the worst victims of the crimes that are usually committed. One cannot think of how the world will be in another 20 years time if this power struggle still continues.
