A ship with the name Ma Kamala on Wednesday, inverted after it slammed into another ship named MB Tipkai at around 4 pm at Nimati Ghat in Jorhat. Mama Kamala was leaving Nimati Ghat when it hit MB Tipkai, which was coming from Majuli. The ship that had a place with Sri Pani Slam Kalita was associated with the impact between two boats on September 8, 2021, in which one was affirmed dead while a couple were observed to be missing

According to reports, the charge was attempting to get himself conceded to a clinic when the Dibrugarh police had captured him.

This news was educated by the special director General of Police, G. P. Singh, on his main Twitter handle. The tweet said, “Reference Nimatighat Ferry accident – The owner of the boat involved in the disaster, Sri Pani Ram Kalita has been arrested by @dibrugarhpolice while he was trying for admission to a hospital. Follow-up investigation would be done by @Jorhat_Police @assampolice @CMOfficeAssam.”

The proprietor of the boat that overturned and sank in the Brahmaputra waterway close to Nimati Ghat in Assam’s Jorhat locale last week leaving two dead and one missing was captured from Dibrugarh on Monday, a top police official said.

With this, the quantity of captures regarding the episode has expanded to twelve including six representatives of the Inland Water Transport (IWT) Division who were captured on Sunday for supposed carelessness.

Few more people had been arrested by Jorhat Police to record their assertion. Special chief general of police GP Singh tweeted the news reporting the capture of the boat proprietor.

He said the proprietor of the boat ‘Maa Kamala’, Pani Smash Kalita, was captured from Aditya Medical clinic in Dibrugarh. Other than those captured, a few others had been gathered by Jorhat Police since Sunday to record their assertions, police had said.

Jorhat representative magistrate Ashok Barman said search activity to follow the missing casualty proceeded for the 6th day, with the space of search reaching out to a few kilometers downstream and abutting regions.
