Assam: War on Drugs: 15 bighas of cannabis destroyed in Goalpara by Assam Police

As per reports, Assam police have destroyed 15 bighas of cannabis in Goalpara district of Assam. 

With this Assam police have gained another victory towards war on drugs.

Assam Police received information about the cultivation 

Assam police after receiving information about the 15 bighas of cannabis cultivation in Latibari char, Bamunialga char, and Patakata char in Goalpara district they destroyed it. 

Regarding which, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, “Another major success achieved in @assampolice’s drive against drugs. About 15 bighas of cannabis cultivation has been destroyed at Latibari char, Bamunialga char & Patakata char under Chunari PS, Goalpara dist. Much appreciated. Keep it up.” 

As a part of its efforts to curb drug menace in the state, the Assam Police have tightened its belt as the latter is continuing to conduct raids on several places in the state. 

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said his government has adopted a zero tolerance policy towards drugs and that all the Northeastern states are trying to put up a united fight against the menace.
