On 25th August, the spokesperson of Taliban Zabihullah Mujahid said that Pakistan “is like a second home” for the Taliban regime and looking forward to deepening the ties with Pakistan.
The spokesperson, Zabihullah Mujahid, also said that Taliban want good ties with neighbouring country India.
We are traditionally aligned with Pakistan: Taliban Spokesperson
In an interview with Pakistan based ARY news the spokesperson of Taliban Mujahid said “Afghanistan shares its borders with Pakistan. We are traditionally aligned when it comes to religion, the people of both the countries mingle with each other. So we are looking forward to further deepening of ties with Pakistan”.
He also stated that Pakistan has no contribution in their capture of Afghanistan, saying that the country has never “interfered” in their affairs.
Taliban wants India and Pakistan to resolve their issues
Taliban spokesperson Mujahid further said that they want good ties with India. Also said that the neighbouring countries Pakistan and India should resolve their issues.
According to the reports of Reuters, on 25th August former Guantanamo detainee Mullah Abdul Qayyum Zakir was posted as defence minister by the Taliban.
After the Taliban took charge people fled to other countries
As the Taliban captured Afghanistan on August 15, within the 10 days the United States have evacuated more than 88,000 people, which is one of the biggest air evacuations, and in the past 24 hours 19,000 people have been evacuated. According to the US military, planes are taking off from Kabul Airport every 39 minutes.
India too has evacuated over 800 Afghan Hindus and Sikh people from Afghanistan. And today 180 people have been evacuated to India today from Afghanistan.
