There are certain familiar names of universities from the North East in the ranking. Gauhati University came in 45 in the university ranking, making it the highest-ranked university in the Northeast. Following Gauhati University, Tezpur University is at 46, North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) at 59 and Assam University at 93.
