The North-East Agriculture Technology Entrepreneurs Hub (NEATEHUB), the agribusiness incubator of Assam Agricultural University, marked a significant milestone today with a valedictory and cheque distribution ceremony, recognizing the achievements of 10 pioneering agribusiness start-ups.
NEATEHUB Celebrates Agribusiness Innovation
These ventures were the beneficiaries of a total funding of Rs. 160 lakhs under the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana – Remunerative Approaches for Agriculture and Allied Sectors Rejuvenation (RKVY-RAFTAAR) scheme.
NEATEHUB, functioning as a robust agribusiness incubator, played a pivotal role in nurturing these entrepreneurs through its Isanya and Saranya incubation programs, targeting the Idea and Startup stages, respectively. The ceremony highlighted the success of the participants, with Isanya entrepreneurs securing pre-seed funding of Rs. 5 lakhs each, and Saranya entrepreneurs receiving up to Rs. 25 lakhs per start-up.
The selected Isanya entrepreneurs at the pre-seed stage include Sabina Farmin Saikia of Eco Web Lab Pvt Ltd. The Saranya entrepreneurs at the seed stage comprise Devajit Sharma of Aquagreen Eco-Farming Pvt Ltd, Liba Elijah Raiveio of Twosis Garden Pvt Ltd, Pushpanjali Das of Greenbam Infratech Pvt Ltd, Dr. Syed Wasifur Rahman of Asomi Polyseed Pvt Ltd, Khumanthem Rakesh Singh of Lemlei Enterprise Pvt Ltd, Rejaul Gabil Momin of Gabil Agro Industries Pvt Ltd, Dr. Bijaylakhmi Goswami of Agrithink Services LLP, Ranjit Baruah of Tender Buds Teas & Crafts Pvt Ltd, and Monalisha Borthakur of AmbyGold Manorama Foods Pvt Ltd.
In addition to the cheque distribution, the ceremony acknowledged the achievements of 28 participants from the current cohorts engaged in a virtual incubation program, who were presented with certificates during the valedictory session.
The ceremony’s chief guest, Akash Jyoti Gogoi, a distinguished entrepreneur and recipient of the “Assam Gaurav” award, commended NEATEHUB’s efforts in fostering a sustainable environment for aspiring regional entrepreneurs. As the Founder of Bahubali Eggs and Xaaj, Mr. Gogoi emphasized the importance of profitability and urged entrepreneurs to address market demands effectively.
Addressing the audience, Dr. BC Deka, a prominent figure, highlighted the necessity of innovation in agribusiness. He encouraged entrepreneurs to expand their ventures beyond the region and congratulated the awardees for their achievements. Dr. Deka emphasized the potential for elevating Northeastern produce to national and international platforms.
Dr. Danish Tamuly, Director on the Board of NEATEHUB, underscored the significance of technology-driven innovation in the northeastern region. During his welcome address, he emphasized the vital role of adequate support and exposure in fostering innovation.
Concluding the event, Dr. K Karthikeyen, CEO of NEATEHUB, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all stakeholders and participants for their dedication and contributions to the success of the incubator.
Established in 2018 on the AAU campus, NEATEHUB operates as an Atal Incubation Centre, striving to cultivate a sustainable ecosystem for emerging agripreneurs in the northeastern region. The incubator provides essential technical support, mentorship, allied services, and co-working spaces to facilitate the growth of agribusiness ventures in the region. The valedictory and cheque distribution ceremony not only celebrated the achievements of these agribusiness start-ups but also highlighted the commitment of NEATEHUB in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in the agricultural sector.
