Several Organisations Opposed The MoU Signed Between Assam Meghalaya

A rally was organised to raise opposition to MoU signed between Assam Meghalaya. Hundreds of people including HYC leaders and the residents of the border areas were participated in the rally organised by the HYC (Hynniewterp Youth Council) to oppose the MoU signed between Assam-Meghalaya. The participants condemned the MoU signed between the Chief Ministers of these two states by displaying banners.

Hynniewterp Youth Council severely criticised the Meghalaya Government for signing the Memorandum of Understanding with the Assam Government. They also organised an open debate. The Youth Council alleged that the Meghalaya Government has parted some of the lands to Assam.

Many dignitaries including Conrad K Sangma, Jirang MLA and the members of the Regional Committee did not participate in the open debate to raise voice against MoU signed between Assam-Meghalaya organised by HYC. The HYC leaders alleged that the Memorandum was signed between the two states without a proper verification. They further alleged that he Meghalaya Government and the MDA Government pretentiously parted some of the lands of Meghalaya to Assam.
