A 22-year-old woman named Thulasi has been arrested by the Tamil Nadu police after a video of her brutally torturing and assaulting her child went viral on social media.
Husband files complaint
Her husband, Vadivazhagan (37) has filed a case against her after he found that video on his phone. The Sathyamangalam police registered a case against Thulasi under section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 355 (assault with intent to dishonour person) and 308 (culpable homicide) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) as well as section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act. Later a team of police from Tamil Nadu reached Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh to arrest her from her mother’s home.
The videos are horrific
There have been more than one video which shows her repeatedly hitting the child’s mouth and face, even as the child was crying in pain, she didn’t stop and continued till bleeding.
In another video, she has shown whip-like marks on the child’s back, caused due to constant hitting. In another video, the woman thrashed the child with a slipper while the child was crying in pain. In one video, she grabs the child’s leg and starts hitting then shows the injuries on the camera.
Videos show child’s assault
According to reports, there were allegedly around 250 such videos. It appeared that the video clips were taken particularly to record the child’s assault because many times the woman was purposely looking into the camera before hitting the child.
