India’s PM Modi to launch 5G services in India at India Mobile Congress in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi on October 1.

The announcement was made on Saturday by the Ministry of Communications’ National Broadband Mission. The tweet posted by the ministry read, “Taking India’s digital transformation and Connectivity to new heights, Hon’ble PM @narendramodi, will roll out 5G services in the country at India Mobile Congress; Asia’s largest technology exhibition.”
The official website of India Mobile Congress, which is a telecome, media and technology forum said on its website that PM Modi will be inaugurating the event and launching 5G services in India.
The 5G spectrum auctions were completed in August and the companies have been gearing up to prepare for the 5G launch in the country.
The department garnered 17,876 crore from Bharati Airtel, Reliance Jio, Adani data networks and Vodafone Idea for the auction.
