Miss World 2021 Finale Postponed after India’s Manasa Varanasi and 16 others tests COVID-19 Positive

Amid the Omicron scare, Miss World 2021 has been temporarily postponed. After 17 contestants including India’s Manasa tested Covid positive.

Organizers of Miss World 2021 have informed the same. The announcement was made on Thursday just hours before the event was scheduled to start. The contestants are currently in isolation in Puerto Rico, where the finale was scheduled to take place.

Announcement made by the Officials

An official statement said, “Keeping in mind the rising Covid cases amongst the contestants, the Miss World Organisation has decided to postpone the Miss World finale.”

In a press release, Miss World announced, “After meeting with the virologists and medical experts hired to oversee the Miss World 2021 event and discussing with the Puerto Rico Health Department, the decision has been made by the organizers of the event to postpone the globally broadcast finale at the Puerto Rico Coliseum Jose Miguel Agrelot to be held within the next 90 days.”

India’s Manasa Varanasi also among those tested positive

Among those infected Covid positive, India’s Manasa Varanasi, who was crowned Miss India World 2020, and will represent India at the international beauty pageant. She’s currently in isolation in Puerto Rico.
