Meghalaya: Joint Action Committee requests scraping of Umngot Hydro Electric Project

SHILLONG: The Joint Action Committee (JAC) met Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Tuesday to restate their demand of scraping the proposed dam project on the Umngot River.

According to the JAC, the proposed project will impact around 390 hectares of agricultural land and hence they urged the Chief Minister to seek a different course of action.
