Man in MP pours acid on 5 street dogs as he didn’t like them

On Friday, a horrific incident occurred in Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain district, where five street dogs died after they were attacked with acid, police said.

Even innocent animals aren’t safe amongst humans, the episode came to light when a resident of Mahalakshmi Nagar, named Brijraj Parihar  noticed in the morning the dogs writhing in discomfort. 

“I took the dogs to the veterinary hospital from where they were referred to a Indore hospital where they died,” the resident said.

Case reported against unidentified accused

“On learning about the incident, People for Animal (PFA) member Priyanshu Jain arrived from Indore in Ujjain and along with Parihar, filed a complaint against unknown persons at Nagjhiri police station. The complaint was filed under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act,” Ujjain superintendent of police Satendra Shukla said.

In this regard CSP Vandana Shukla said that a case has been reported against unidentified accused under sections 428, 429 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.

Most heinous crimes against an animal

Shukla said that Police are also inspecting CCTV footage of the area to arrest the accused.

“This is one of the most heinous crimes against animals. Police should take tough action against the person who did this with no mercy,” Priyanshu Jain said.
