A PIL has been submitted to the Supreme Court by collective representation of 6,469 parents and the lakhs of students who demand for all State board class 12 exam to be cancelled.
Child rights activist, Anubhua Shrivastava Sahal and Advocate Mamta Sharma along with a volunteer parent, Sukhpal Singh are at the forefront of this fight and wrote to the apex court that all state board adhere to the decision of CBSE to evaluate the class 12 students with an alternative method. They fear that the proposed offline exams by the state board will be the harbinger of the 3rd wave of Covid-19.
The petition furthermore demanded a quick decision regarding the plea so as to allow the students to prepare for college admissions and further studies.
The petition is the outcome of the state board’s decision to conduct exams of any 3 subjects yesterday on June 8th. The Centre has cancelled the CBSE Class 12 examinations on June 3rd in view of the second Covid-19 wave which ended confusion for roughly 1.4 million students, who were to appear in them.
