They used to be very close friends although they share a common ex boyfriend. But soon after the movie Aitraaz was released, the two went from being friends to real time enemies.

The movie Aitraaz made a box office hit back in the days of 2004. This was the first time that a film of Kareena kapoor khan went super hit and she was overshadowed in the entire film because of her co actor, Priyanka Chopra.
As per sources, the equation between the two actors were quite stable at first. They used to hit it off because of the same age group. They used to hang out together at all times and even went to social gatherings together. But the differences starting becoming prominent after the release of the movie. Kareena who worked hard for the role and gave an outstanding performance was not quite noticeable by the audience. She then came to realise that her friend was her competitor.
