Indian actor Jay Bhanushali has joined the chorus of criticism against the latest film adaptation of Barbie, starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling. Taking to social media, Jay expressed his disappointment with the movie, warning his followers not to waste their money on it. He watched the film with his daughter and described it as “super bad,” urging parents to avoid taking their children to watch it.
In a video posted on his social media accounts, Jay shared that he initially took his daughter to the film after seeing videos of people dressed in pink flocking to theaters. However, the experience turned out to be less than pleasant, and he regretted recommending it to his daughter.
“Isse buri picture maine nahi dekhi (I haven’t seen a worse film than this). It was super, super bad film. I am at a loss for words. It took me two days to talk about it as I was shocked at what kind of a film they’d made. It was promoted as a kids’ film but it’s not for them or even adults,” he said. “She was judging me for liking the film. I want to warn you all that if you ask your children to go with you, they will doubt you, your taste and your choice. So beware,” he concluded.
Jay revealed that even though he paid for the film, he found it difficult to tolerate. After 30 minutes into the movie, his daughter expressed boredom and sleepiness, leaving him stunned. He humorously recounted how his daughter’s disapproval of the film made him realize that he had made a wrong choice. Previously, Juhi Parmar had also expressed her outrage when she went to watch Barbie with her 10-year-old daughter. She walked out of the cinema hall within 10-15 minutes, citing ‘inappropriate language and sexual connotations’ in the film.
