Former Governor of West Bengal and NDA candidate Jagdeep Dhankar will take oath as the 14th Vice President of India today.

The oath taking ceremony will begin from 11:45 am at Rashtrapati Bhawan, and will be administered by President Droupadi Murmu.
The election to the position of Dhankar was held on the 6th August. He defeated the Opposition’s Margaret Alva and thus emerged victorious.
Rajiv Kumar and Anup Chandra, the Chief Election Commissioner and Election Commissioner, jointly signed the Certification of the Election of Dhankar.
Dhankar won by a vote of 528 against Alva’s 182. Since 1997, Dhankar has set the highest margin.
