Indian Navy is now all geared up to study how the large Russian warship Moskva sunk. The warship was attacked by two Ukrainian Anti ship cruise missiles. The incident happened on the 14th of April 2022. The large Russian Cruiser was the flagship of Russia’s Black sea.
Indian Navy’s concern over sunken warship
The Indian Navy are studying on how the Indian Warships can be prevented from anti ballistic missiles in case of any war outbreak. The main fear for Indian soldiers are direct threat from China. The Chinese army has DF21 ballistic missile which has the potential to cause mass destruction.
The last Russian warship to have sunk was 117 years ago in the Battle of Tsushima by the Japanese imperial navy.
As the large warship had sunk, Indian Navy forces are concern about the survivability chances of Indian cruisers today against ballistic missiles. The Chinese forces has been a serious threat not just to India but also to the mighty USA forces. Up until recently, the Chinese has been continuously flaunting its aircraft carriers and its anti ballistic missiles. Some of the media houses has also termed these war weapons to be ship killer.
According to reports of the former Indian Navy official, “The anti ship missile age dawned in the 1960s and throughout our career, the focus is on how to avoid missile attacks and fires onboard our ships. The key to warding off an anti-ship missile attack is to ensure that the adversary does not get real time location of the warship in times of hostilities and detection of the incoming threat to counter it.”
Thus, one can say that when big warships are sunk is not only poses a threat to the country but also has serious implication on the morale of the forces as well. The study is therefore essential for Navy forces to ensure that such warships if detected does not sink it down.
