India has reported 90,928 new COVID cases in the last 24 hours, with a daily positive rate of 6.43 percent.
The pandemic has claimed the lives of 4,82,876 people, with 325 deaths from the virus reported in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
Number of people recovered and vaccination administered
The total number of people who have recovered from the infection is 3,43,41,009. The positivity rate for the week is 3.47 percent.
Furthermore, the Ministry stated that over 148.67 crore doses of COVID vaccination had been administered across the nation to far.
Omicron cases in India
According to the Union Health Ministry data, India logged 495 fresh Omicron infections, taking the total tally in the country to 2,630 cases. At least 995 have recovered, the Health Ministry said.
Maharashtra reports highest number of cases
In the last 24 hours, Maharashtra reported 26,538 new COVID-19 cases and eight deaths, according to the state health bulletin.
With 15,166 new cases, Mumbai has the largest number of infections.Omicron cases at 797.
According to health department data, Delhi reported 10,665 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, nearly double the number of infections reported the day before, with the positive rate jumping to 11.88 percent.
