On Tuesday, December 7, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced a Rs 5 crore amount to turn Dhubri Gurdwara into a spiritual tourism attraction.

“Blessed to have visited Gurdwara Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib, Dhubri on the solemn occasion of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Saheb Ji, who was an epitome of courage & sacrifice,” CM posted on Twitter. “Our Govt will provide Rs 5 cr for developing the Gurdwara as a spiritual tourism spot.”
Guru Tegh Bahadur Martyrdom Day
The historical Dhubri Gurdwara had a three-day celebration to commemorate the 346th Guru Tegh Bahadur Martyrdom Day, also known as Shaheedi Diwas.
People from all throughout the country paid their respects to the ninth of ten Sikh Gurus who advocated for religious freedom.
On this day, the ninth Sikh Guru’s death anniversary is commemorated.
Sarma paid respect to Guru Tegh Bahadur at the Dhubri Gurdwara on Saturday, the second day of the celebrations.
