Guwahati: Police intercept 26 individuals for drunk driving; fined, licenses suspended

According to a tweet by Guwahati Police, on the night of December 22, 26 people were intercepted for drunk driving. Their licenses have been suspended and have been charged with a fine of ₹10,000/-.

Strict implementation of Traffic rules

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma recently announced the strict implementation of traffic rules on new year’s eve. Wearing helmets has already been made mandatory and violators are to be fined accordingly.

The CM also said that he won’t let any parents lose their child by accident and strict action would be taken for exceeding the speed limit of 60 km per hour.
