Guwahati residents were left stranded on 27th of April as no city buses were plying ahead of Prime Minister‘s visit to the state.

No city bus witnessed in guwahati
As per reports, the buses were reserved for PM Modi’s visit to Dibrugarh. A total of 500 buses has been sent to karbi Anglong and Dibrugarh, reported the transport department of the state. The buses were made to provide for scheduled visit on the 28th of April 2022.
According to the bus association, many buses are not plying in the city due to financial constraints. A bus member said, “Buses are asked to provide for each and every government programme.” In addition to city buses, night supers are also reserved for PM Modi’s visit to the state.

Common man’s plight
Due to no availability of city buses in guwahati, many residents were stranded for long hours. The worst affected were the working professionals and the school and college students who generally take the bus for commute.
The situation is said to prevail for another two days until the program ends.
