Students of Guwahati College of Architecture and Planning visit Jyoti-Chitraban for case study; experiences warm welcome

The 5th-semester students of Guwahati College of Architecture and Planning guided by faculties Ar. Jayashree Talukdar, Ar. Jyotimani Das and Er. Kashmiri Deuri visited the Jyoti-Chitraban, Kahilipara, Guwahati for the Case study for the design topic “Performing Arts Centre (PAC)”.

The site of the Jyoti-Chitraban is contoured which helps the students learn how to work with a contoured site. Er. Kashmiri Deuri, also helped the students through the structural technicalities of the studios and theatres including the spans and types of columns, ceiling details, etc.

They also learned about acoustic requirements for a studio, different aspects of filmmaking, and simultaneous room/space requirements. They also witnessed firsthand, different acoustic materials used in a sound editing, recording studio.

The atmosphere is very welcoming and encourages accessibility for all following universal design elements like Ramps and wheelchair-accessible washrooms.
