The issue of leaving brides after making rounds for dowry demands by the groom is resurfacing in the Bayana of Bharatpur, Rajasthan.
Two sisters from Sikandra were married to two brothers from Rampura, according to the information.
The grooms demanded dowry after partying the whole wedding night
The grooms requested marriage settlement in the morning partying after the all-night wedding programs.
Moreover, the groom’s brothers requested a dowry of Rs 5 lakh in cash, a bike, and gold jewelry.
Meanwhile, the bride’s father protested his inability to provide marriage settlement after such a large demand, and the groom returned with a procession.
After a night of celebration, the ambiance was shattered when marriage settlement was demanded during the morning departure.
The groom refused to consent despite much lobbying from the bride’s side and returned with the procession.
Further, the brides, dressed in bridal attire, arrived at the police station with relatives and lodged a complaint against the groom and his family members.
Despite this, the brides showed bravery. She claims that the dowry-hungry face of husbands has emerged over time, and she now refuses to go with husbands at any cost.
