Former Indian Cricketer and BJP MP from East Delhi, Gautam Gambhir reportedly received a death threat from ‘ISIS Kashmir’. He has complained to Delhi Police. Gambhir received the death threat via mail on his official email ID.
Cyber Cell stated investigation into the matter
The cyber cell along with the special cell of the district has started their investigation. Security has been put outside Gambhir’s residence in Rajendra Nagar.
“Security has been beefed up outside Gambhir’s residence in Rajendra Nagar,” said DCP (Central) Shweta Chauhan.
What does Gambhir’s complaint say?
In a letter to DCP Chauhan, Gambhir’s PS, Gaurav Arora said, “We have received an email from ISIS Kashmir on the official email of MP (Gambhir) sir today at around 9.32 pm. The mail states death threats to MP sir and his family. I request you to kindly look into the matter and lodge an FIR. I also request you to make adequate security arrangements.”
Gambhir gave details of the email that he recommended, which he claims was sent by ISIS Kashmir. It read that the terrorist group is going to kill him and his family.
Gambhir has always been a strong critic of Pakistan based Terrorism
The BJP MP has always been a vocal critic of cross-border terrorism from Pakistan. In February, Gambhir had said that there shouldn’t be any kind of relations with Pakistan till the issue of cross-border terrorism is not over. He also added that the life of Indian soldiers is more important than anything else.
