An FIR has been lodged against Big Boss fame, model and actress Payal Rohatgi by the Pune police for an alleged video that she had shared on social media, in which she has used “defamatory” language against Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi.
An FIR has been registered against Rohtagi under sections 153 (a), 500, 505(2) and 34 of IPC.
FIR lodged by Congress Committee members
On 31st August the case was lodged at Shivaji Nagar police station by Congress Committee members of Pune city.
The complaint was lodged by Sangeeta Tiwari, general secretary of the Congress party’s city district committee. Tiwari’s complaint was against a defamatory video against Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Gandhi family and the Congress Party, uploaded on social media.
Rohtagi’s lawyer claims of not receiving any notice
Further Payal’s lawyer said that they haven’t received any notice regarding the FIR. He said, “Since the morning there is news in the media about my client Payal Rohatgi. We have not got any information or notice related to the FIR”.
The lawyer also claimed that the video is not recent
According to Payal Rohtagi’s lawyer, “From that last video till now, she hasn’t made any controversial video, nor posted any video.”
Her latest video is on the issue of drugs in Bollywood where she claimed that consuming drugs by Bollywood superstars and their partners is not a hidden fact now.
