A man belonging from Amroha in Uttar Pradesh allegedly shot dead his wife on suspicion that she was having an extra-marital affair as he had seen her talking to someone on the phone “in his absence”.
Incident briefing
The incident happened at midnight on Friday, September 3. The deceased’s brother complained about grounds on which the man was arrested. The deceased, Shama, 36, from Rajabpur, married Fazil from Anwarnagar of Moradabad seven months before, after a year of her first husband’s demise. She also had a 14-year old son from her previous marriage.
As per the reports, the couple shifted to a rented house in Rajabpur. Fazil acquired worn-out clothes from rural areas and offered them for sale to Moradabad-based traders. The deceased’s sister, Farha, who used to stay with the couple, was sleeping in the adjoining room when she woke up on hearing the gunshot report. She rushed to her sister’s room and found her lying in a pool of blood with a gunshot wound on her temple. She raised an alarm and called neighbors and someone informed the police.
By the superintendent of police Poonam, police retrieved three spent cartridges from the spot. Amroha’s additional superintendent of police Chandra Prakash Shukla also inspected the spot. In addition to that, more information is awaited and further investigations are on.
