Electric Or LPG Crematoriums In Assam: Guwahati High Court received a petition seeking the installation of electrical or LPG crematoriums in Assam. HC has directed all the concerned departments to make all preparations to set up electric crematoriums in a phased manner.

It is noted these crematoriums will be installed in all District headquarters. Bijan Chakraborty, the petitioner, issued the appeal in person. The petitioner requested the High Court to issue an order, advising the authorities to carry out steps in establishment of the electric or LPG crematoriums.
The petition also mentioned the authorities should make the public aware of the environment friendly benefits of the electric crematoriums.
Furthermore, an appeal has been made to spread the information regarding the existence of Green Cremation Pyres, and it’s importance through various social media platforms such as TV, radio and newspaper.
