In a police firing a suspected drug peddler was injured after being shot in his leg as he tried to escape.
In an incident of Biswanath district in Assam one suspected drug peddler was injured. He was shot at by police while attempting to escape custody near Patelibari.
Police caught him for trafficking drugs
He was caught for illegally trafficking in drugs. He tried to flee police custody taking advantage of darkness.
As per reports, a police official claimed that the peddler was taking the police to a drug site. And there taking advantage of darkness he got down from the car attempting to escape.
During which the official added that one their official shot him in his leg. The peddler was given first aid at Biswanath Civil Hospital before being sent to Tezpur Medical College and Hospital for further treatment.
Right after Himanta Biswa Sarma was appointed as the CM of Assam he announced a war against drugs in the state. And since then 32 people have been killed and at least 61 have been injured in police action.
