All new DHE guidelines denies appointment of candidates as Assistant Professor in Assam, 2022

The DHE or The Directorate of Higher Education has issued a set of new guidelines, which denies the appointment of deserving candidates for the post of Assistant Professor.

All the deserving candidates of Assam who has qualified the NEt/SLET/M Phil/PhD will be denied the position of Assistant Professor.

Due to this new guidelines that has been issued, several deserving candidates having teaching experience will not be given the position.

As per the reports, the guidelines of UGC or the University Grant Commission do not go hand in hand with the former.

The fresh guidelines has increased the marks from 41 which was the quantum marks for UGC to 71.

As a consequence to this, the candidates that had all the teaching experience will now go in vain. In addition, the students who had passed the examination with the CGPA system will be exempted from this.

Some of the other changes that include are – Class 10 & 12 marks will also be a part of the marking system under the new guidelines. 9 marks will e awarded according to the performance of each result of the candidate. Secondly, the Phd holder will be awarded 13 marks by the DHE in comparison to 25 which was awarded by the UGC. Third, candidates having teaching experience will now be awardd only 2 marks instead of 10.

All these above factors has caused a disappointment among the deserving candidates who had qualified all exams and had teaching experience. Some have caused their concern by moving the issue to the court
