Cyclone alert over Bay of Bengal

Odisha State Disaster Management Authority and IMD issued an alert to the coastal districts over the Bay of Bengal to prepare for a possible cyclone.

The predict for the possible calamity comes after the Indian Meteorological Department stated that a possible cyclone might come around 8th May 2022 with a wind speed up to 75 km/hour.

As per reports from Odisha Chief Secretary, SC Mohapatra, “the state is well prepared for the eventuality if any. District collectors have been informed about the possible calamity.”

According to the reports from ANI, the IMD senior scientist Umashankar Das said, “the cyclonic circulation around Andaman sea will repeat tomorrow and move towards the north-west. As per our estimate, wind speed now on would hover between 40-50 km/hr, it will further increase 8th May onwards and can go up to 75 km/hr.”
