Nayanmoni Saikia of Indian team added laurels to the nation by clinching India’s first-ever gold medal in the Lawn Bowls at the Commonwealth Games 2022. The Indian team defeated South Africa to clinch the victory. The players belong from different nooks and corners of the country.
Nayanmoni Saikia creates history
Saikia is thirty-three and hails from Assam. Lovely Chaubey is forty-two and belongs to Jharkhand. Rupa Rani Rupa Rani Tirkey is thirty- four and hails from Jharkhand too. Pinki is fourty-two and works at DPS RK PURAM as a physical education teacher.
They have come together and made history. The biggest cliche of the story was the team achieved this mammoth task without much support from the government.
