Cristiano Ronaldo, the icon of Manchester United and Portugal, announced on Thursday that he and his partner Georgina Rodriguez are expecting twins.
The announcement
The 36-year-old made the announcement on Instagram. “Delighted to announce we are expecting twins. Our hearts are full of love – we can’t wait to meet you,” Ronaldo captioned the photo, which also included a photo of him and Georgina revealing the ultrasound scans of their twins.
Second photo in the post shows Ronaldo with his four children in a swimming pool.
Ronaldo is expecting his second and third child with Georgina, a 27-year-old Spanish model from Argentina.
The Spanish model also used her own account to publish the same photos and captions to announce the pregnancy.
Ronaldo’s other children
Alana, the couple’s three-year-old daughter, was born to them. Cristiano Junior, Ronaldo’s 11-year-old son, and twins Eva and Mateo, four, are Ronaldo’s children.
The identity of Cristiano Junior’s mother is unknown. In 2017, a surrogate mother gave birth to Ronaldo’s twins, daughter Eva and son Mateo.
In 2017, Ronaldo stated that he desired seven children while Rodriguez last year said: “My desire for motherhood is stronger than anything. I hope to have more children.”
Ronaldo and Rodriguez
Ronaldo and Rodriguez have been dating since 2016, when they met in a Gucci store in Madrid, where she worked as a shop assistant for £10 an hour.
Warm wishes to the couple
Dolores Aveiro, the Manchester United striker’s mother, wrote shortly after the news was released: ‘Let my grandchildren be born healthy. That’s what matters the most.’
The 66-year-old, who had a life-threatening stroke last year, shared ultrasounds of the twins on her Instagram Story around the same time with an applause emoji.
